Orders & Cancellation

You have one hour after placing your order to cancel. Use the link in your order confirmation email or cancel through your account at boutiquerugs.com/account.
If your order has already shipped, we're unable to cancel it. You can return it once it arrives — visit our Returns page for your options. If you're unsure whether your order has shipped, contact our support team and we'll check for you.
You'll receive a confirmation email when you order and a shipping notice with tracking once it ships. Track your package on the carrier's website. Questions? Reach us at [email protected].
We don't have a direct exchange program. Place a new order for the item you'd like, then return the original for a refund. Questions about a specific exchange? Contact our support team.

Payments & Pricing

Yes. We offer Klarna and Shop Pay at checkout, so you can split your purchase into interest-free installments. We also accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, PayPal, and Apple Pay.

As required by law, applicable sales tax is charged on all purchases, except in states that don't have sales tax.

Once we receive and inspect your return, allow 3–5 business days for processing. Your bank or credit card provider may take an additional 3–5 business days to reflect it on your statement.
Coupons, discount codes, and deals do not apply to rug pads, clearance items, special collections, custom rugs, warranties, gift cards, or cleaning products unless stated otherwise. Offers cannot be combined with other promotions.

Shipping & Delivery

Standard shipping within the contiguous U.S. is free and typically arrives in 1–5 business days via FedEx. Larger rugs (10'x14' and above) ship via freight and may take longer. For full details, see our Shipping page.
Yes, via FedEx. Shipping costs are calculated at checkout. We're currently unable to accept returns on international orders, but if yours arrives damaged or defective, contact us and we'll work with you on a resolution.
We can't guarantee changes once an order is submitted, so double-check your info before placing it. If you notice an error, reach out to our support team as soon as possible.
Yes, for customers in the contiguous U.S. Options and costs appear at checkout. Orders must be placed before 12 PM EST to ship the same business day. Not available for rugs 10'x14' and larger. Expedited shipping costs are non-refundable.
Most rugs ship rolled, though some larger rugs may arrive folded. You can check the Rug Size Guide on each product page to see how a specific rug ships.
Contact our support team right away with your order number and photos of the rug (including the back label). Our quality team will investigate and help resolve the issue. Please report problems promptly.

Returns & Exchanges

You have 60 days from delivery to return your item. Free returns are available with a gift card refund. If you prefer a refund to your original payment method, a return fee applies. Items must be in new, sellable condition. See our Returns page for full details.
Custom rugs, sample rugs, clearance items, cleaning products, rug tapes, corner rug pads, and assembled furniture are final sale. Products from Four Hands, Feizy, Safavieh, Karastan, and Rizzy are also non-returnable.

Describe your style, your room, or the problem you're trying to solve, and our AI-powered search will surface the best matches.
The right size depends on your room, furniture layout, and how you want the rug to sit. As a quick guide: for dining rooms, go about 4 feet longer and wider than your table. For king-size beds, a 9'x12' works best. For stair runners, measure your staircase and contact us. Each product page also includes a Rug Size Guide with exact dimensions and room-by-room recommendations.
Our images are as accurate as possible, but screens vary. Patterns and colors may also differ slightly from rug to rug since many are handmade. Each product page includes a "How It Looks in Different Lighting" section. You can also check review photos, use "Try in My Room", or order a sample.
Yes. Most of our rugs have a sample option right on the product page. Samples are final sale, but if you go on to purchase a full-size rug, we're happy to provide a gift card refund for the sample — making it essentially free when you find the right one.
Lengths and widths may vary up to 4% from published dimensions due to manufacturing and rolling. This is standard across the industry and not a defect.
No. Fringe and tassel length are not included in the listed dimensions. For specific measurements, reach out via chat or email.

Rug Pads

None of our rugs have rubber backing. We recommend pairing every rug with a pad — it prevents slipping, extends the rug's life, and adds cushioning. Our pads are safe for pets and all floor types.
Felted Rug Pad — 0.22" thick. 100% felt with rubber backing, made in the USA. The most cushioning. Natural and stain-resistant. Best for a soft, premium feel.

Luxury Grip Rug Pad — 0.16" thick. 100% PVC. Our strongest grip. Ideal for high-traffic areas.

Bavaria Rug Pad — 0.06" thick. 100% PVC. Our thinnest option, great for low-clearance areas or thin rugs.

All pads are free of harmful chemicals. Size your pad slightly larger than the rug and trim to fit, or choose one slightly smaller.
Yes, though outdoor exposure may shorten the pad's lifespan over time.
No. Vacuum on a low setting for dry messes. For wet messes, spot-clean with a washcloth and soapy water, then let the pad dry completely. Rotate every 3 months and replace every 2–3 years.

Yes. Our rugs work well on hardwood, tile, vinyl, laminate, and carpet. We recommend using a rug pad on any surface for added stability, protection, and comfort.
Yes. Our rugs and rug pads are safe for use on heated floors. Rotating the rug regularly is a good idea, as the warmth can cause the fibers to dry out slightly faster.
